Celebrate July Fourth in Boston along the banks of Charles River at the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. The country's most exciting Independence Day celebration, this amazing concert and fireworks display draws hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country to Boston's historic waterfront.
Held over the July 3rd and 4th weekend at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Esplanade, the Boston POPS Fireworks Spectacular begins with a rousing concert by the Boston Pops - "America's Orchestra" - including Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and the ringing of the church bells. Fans gather across this historic state park with video screens and tall sound towers blasting the orchestra music.
The colorful fireworks illuminate the dark Boston sky and Charles River at about 10:30 pm. This explosive pyrotechnics show is spectacular sight that lights up the entire Boston and Cambridge waterfront. Grab a spot on the grassy "Oval" grass, along Longfellow and Massachusetts Avenue Bridges, or cruise out on a boat to experience the fantastic fireworks from the river. The Boston and Cambridge sides both offer great concessions with food and drinks.
Situated along the Back Bay, Copley Square Hotel is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional Boston Fourth of July. Our historic boutique hotel is within walking distance of the waterfront and the Esplanade. Experience the music and magic of the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. Before you head out for the festivities, enjoy a glass of red or white at our evening Wine Down at 5PM - a chic way to toast America's birthday.
