Since our last entry, we have had quite a few changes to our renovation schedule, food and beverage offering, lobby design and a host of other updates. So here is the latest and greatest (or in some cases, not so great!)

Our latest opening date is tentatively scheduled for September 1 (yes, 2008!). I say tentatively because when we closed 3 months ago, the thought was we would open in time for marathon weekend, which is this weekend (no one really did say whether that was 2008 or 2009!). All joking aside, we are shaking out the details of the schedule as we speak and should have an updated date in the next 2-3 weeks. Here are some other updates on what our offering will consist of once we re-open:

Domani, the restaurant that was located off of the lobby, will not be re-opening as its former self but will, instead, be re-developed as 'minibar', a high end martini lounge with an entire new look and feel. Having seen the plans and the sketches, it is an absolute 'WOW'! It will fit in perfectly with our urban chic lobby and overall hotel experience.

As a result of the change with Domani, we have been able to redesign the space and will expand the lobby area by roughly 50%

Minibar will offer beverage service throughout our lobby, creating a fun and sassy lobby lounge experience!

Wi-fi...to charge or not to charge...that has been a hot button for many travelers...well, we hear ya'! No charge for wi-fi!!!

Included in the project are a new boiler, new hot water heaters, new guest elevator and new handicap lift, thus eliminating some of the age old guest issues from yesteryear!

Regarding in-room guest amenities- double sided pillow top mattresses, 300 thread count sheets including Frette duvet covers and pillow shams, i-Pod docking stations, desk drawers stocked with business supplies, new bathroom terrycloth linen including oversized bath towels and robes, and 32" LCD's.

And, mark your calendars, this temporary website will be down no later than Friday, April 25 and replaced by our permanent site which will be a great representation of what we will be when we re-open.
